NEPA bluegrass fest grounds are probably the most awesome fest grounds I've ever seen! You gotta see it! Anyone on the fence about this fest....it's a must do! Bring the swimmin trunks, fishing pole and something to float on! LEVEL camping, LOTS of tree shaded camping everywhere! Special GB camping/GB Hall grounds set aside near the stream...river front property!!! This fest is gonna rock...you gotta go! Check out the web site above! Lots of electric sites left!

OATS Bluegrass Academy for Kids
The Oat Bluegrass Academy for Kids is a free three-day learning experience held Friday through Sunday during the OATS Bluegrass Festival, July 3rd through 6th, 2008 in Benton, PA. Students ages 8 – 15 attending the festival with an adult weekend ticket holder are welcome to participate. Each student must have his or her own bluegrass instrument. During the classes, students will learn how to play, sing and perform bluegrass music.
If you know of a child interested in participating please contact George Koserowski at gkoserowski@comcast.net or Jodie Fishbein (908) 756-2909 to register or for any other information. Advance registration is encouraged but not mandatory. Or come to OATS and register your child there!

I believe I'll be able to make the glorious Festivus nam Abbifus next, followed by Strawberry Park. Last year was my first year there and it was a great time! Unfortunately that weekend is triple-booked for us. But I've been to Graves Mountain, Strawberry Park, and Michael Arnone's Crawfish Fest and I can say from experience, ALL of them are excellent festivals with their own set of experiences to offer. If you've been to one, I'd suggest trying another! Nothing wrong with getting in as many festivals as possible, right? :D

I just wanted to let everyone know that there have been problems with reserving hotel rooms for Wilmington Wintergrass. March 14-16 THE HOTEL IS NOT FULL!!! We were able to sell our required block of rooms and for that I say Thank You ALL for your support.
Evidently people have called up for rooms and told that they were sold out. That is not true, the hotel is only at 52% capasity. If you called and were turned away or know of anyone that was turned away Please try again. Even their national call center has sent people away. We have heard this from 3 sources they are just the ones we know about, no telling how many others think they can't get a room. See you at Wintergrass!!

We are hosting a house concert on Saturday, April 12 starting at 7:30 pm. John Carlini (guitar), Don Stiernberg (mandolin) and Brian Glassman (bass) will be playing two sets. A donation of $15.00 is asked for the musicians. Also, John and Don will be running a workshop from 4:00 to 5:15. There will a light dinner provided afterwards for attendees. An additional donation of $15.00 is requested. Seating for concert is limited to 50 and spots for the workshop are limited to 12. This show will be acoustic, mostly jazz with a little bluegrass thrown in! We have two bedrooms available and camper space available for those who want to overnight. This is a wonderful opportunity to see three great musicians up close. They have three other shows at larger venues over the same weekend.

Benefit for Banjo player, Jack Sanbower who has cancer April 12, American Legeion 935 Main St Hellertown Pa. Noon-Midnight. Over 16 Bands (See Link) Donation $15
Most of you know Jack if not by name, to see him (photo on link) He led the No Leeway Band for years and most recently played with the Blueridge Mt Boys, Rattlesnake Hill & fills in with Louie Setzer. He is a Full time musician and therefore has No Money.
The benefit is the day before the AFBA Shindig at the same location. There is a special rate ($89) at the Holiday Inn for those that want to stay over and have 2 Days of Bluegrass. Joe & Dottie Sullivan are offering people with campers to stay at thier place (Sullyfest)
